I think I was charged after cancelling. What should I do?

More often than not the sequence turns out to be the other way round: the charge went through first, and the cancellation came after it.

Here's how to work out what really happened.

1. Track down your cancellation confirmation email

A cancellation that succeeds sends a confirmation email straight away. No such email in your inbox is a strong sign the cancellation never completed.

  • Look for mail from CreateQR with "cancellation" in the subject line.
  • Check the spam, junk, and promotions folders too.
  • Try any other addresses you may have registered under.

Put simply, no email means no cancellation. Once you finish up at the Cancellation portal and hit the final confirmation screen, the email reaches you within a few minutes.

2. Line the two dates up

With that confirmation email in hand, set two dates side by side:

  • the date stamped on the cancellation email, and
  • the date the charge shows on your statement.

A charge dated beforethe cancellation means the renewal had already run by the time you cancelled. Cancelling halts the next renewals but can't claw back one that's already in motion, so this isn't an error on our part.

A charge dated afterthe cancellation is a genuine billing mistake, and we'll put it right.

3. Rule out the usual suspects

  • The cancellation was scheduled, not instant. It ends future renewals while the period you've already paid for keeps running. If a renewal was already due before you cancelled, that one still went out.
  • A second account is in play. Sign up once under a different email and you can end up with two accounts, one cancelled and one still billing. Try logging in with your other addresses to check.

What to do next

If it all points to a real billing mistake, a charge dated after your cancellation, with the confirmation email to back it up, email support@create-qr.comand we'll sort it out directly.

A quick ask: come to us before you open a dispute with your bank. A dispute freezes your account while it's investigated and drags the whole thing out for both sides.

And if there's no confirmation email to be found anywhere, cancel now at the Cancellation portal so nothing else is charged, then get in touch about the charge that already happened.
